Music of the Three Romes

The Adelfos Ensemble invites you on a sacred-music tour of three world-class cities which have each, in their time, laid claim to being the center of the Christian world: Rome, Constantinople, and Moscow. Adelfos' spring program, "Music of the Three Romes," will explore Latin plainsong and early polyphony of the medieval West, the haunting chants of the imperial Byzantine church, and the rich 19th- and 20th-century harmonizations of Russian Orthodoxy.
We are especially pleased to be able to offer this concert in the glorious sanctuary of St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church in Santa Barbara (1205 San Antonio Creek Road, off of Hwy 154). The program begins at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 6, 2010. A freewill offering will be accepted at the door (suggested $15 adult, $10 students/seniors).
